Author POV
The meeting hall of the Roy Empire was a place where decisions were made in blood and steel. The long mahogany table was surrounded by men who had built their power on the ruins of others. Each of them had killed, betrayed, and destroyed to earn their seat here. And at the head of it all sat Uday Roy—the man who ruled without mercy.
Vedant stepped inside; his movements calm but commanding. His presence alone was enough to silence the murmurs in the room. The men knew who he was. The heir. The executioner. The beast Uday Roy had created.
Uday’s cold gaze landed on his son. “You’re late.”
Vedant didn’t bother to respond. He wasn’t here to entertain pleasantries. He pulled out the chair across from his father and sat down, his bruised knuckles resting on the table.
Rajan Malik, Uday’s most trusted advisor, cleared his throat. “Let’s get to it.” He slid a folder across the table. “Your final task.”
Vedant picked it up, flipping it open. A single name was printed on the top of the page.
Jitendra Solanki.
Vedant’s jaw tightened slightly. He knew that name well.
The Solanki Empire had been a thorn in their side for years. Ruthless, cunning, and powerful, Jitendra Solanki controlled one of the deadliest crime syndicates in the country. Unlike Uday, who ruled with brute force, Jitendra ruled with strategy. Every attempt to take him down had ended in failure.
But now, they weren’t sending an army.
They were sending Vedant Roy.
Mehul and Akshat stood behind him, silent but alert. They knew the significance of this moment. If Vedant succeeded, he wouldn’t just be a king—he would be untouchable.
Rajan continued, “This won’t be easy. The Solanki empire is heavily guarded, and their security is nearly impenetrable. But we’ve already figured out a way to get you inside.”
Uday’s lips twitched slightly. “You will not go in as a warrior.” His voice held amusement, as if he enjoyed what he was about to say next.
Vedant’s eyes darkened. “Then how?”
Rajan slid a folder across the table. Vedant picked it up, flipping it open. The first thing he saw was a bodyguard’s uniform. His jaw clenched.
“You will enter the Solanki mansion as a gulam,” Rajan said, watching for Vedant’s reaction. “A mere servant.”
Vedant exhaled sharply, but his face remained unreadable.
A servant. A Bodyguard
Vedant’s expression remained blank, but a deadly silence settled over the room.
“They are recruiting new men for their workforce,” Rajan explained. “Their empire is built on loyalty, but their staff is always changing. No one will suspect you if you enter as one of them.”
Uday’s voice was smooth, calculated. “You will serve them, learn their weaknesses, and wait for the right moment. Then…” he leaned back in his chair, a cruel smirk playing on his lips, “you will bring their empire to its knees.”
Vedant exhaled slowly, closing the folder.
A servant.
The heir of the Roy Empire, the man feared by many, would now bow his head and serve the very people he was meant to destroy.
It was humiliating.
It was also genius.
This was the final task. The last step before he took the throne.
Vedant had spent years proving himself. Every mission, every kill, every test they threw at him—he had crushed them all. There was no one left to challenge him, no peer who could rival his skill, his ruthlessness, or his ambition.
And now, there was only one thing standing between him and his crown.
Jitendra Solanki.
Vedant’s grip tightened around the edges of the folder.
Fine.
If they wanted him to play the role of a servant, he would.
He would bow. He would serve.
And when the time was right…
He would burn the Solanki Empire to the ground.
Vedant lifted his gaze, locking eyes with his father. The burning intensity of his ambition reflected in his eyes. “When do I leave?”
The men around the table exchanged glances, some were impressed by his unwavering resolve, others perhaps intimidated by the raw power simmering beneath the surface. None were surprised. This was Vedant, after all.
Uday leaned back in his chair, satisfied. He tilted his head slightly.
“Tomorrow.”
